Morehouse College, recognized as one of the nation’s most prestigious Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and one of only four all-male colleges in the United States, continues to inspire through its powerful initiatives in partnership with the East Orange STEM Academy.
The East Orange STEM Academy proudly sponsored the Morehouse College Male Leadership Summit - “Get On The Bus”, an annual event dedicated to empowering young men through leadership development, mentorship, and growth. This year’s summit focused on cultivating essential skills in Leadership, Scholarship, Community Service, Servant Leadership, Brotherhood, and Networking. Students described the day as both engaging and impactful, especially during the dynamic breakout sessions, which provided meaningful opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and personal development.
Students from Cicely Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts, and East Orange Campus High School, were also in attendance.
“We are deeply grateful to Kevin Booker and the young men of Morehouse College for continuously bringing this extraordinary program to our district,” said Dr. Vincent Stallings, Principal of East Orange STEM Academy. “Their presence, passion, and performance inspire our students to envision greater possibilities for their own futures.”
This ongoing collaboration—spearheaded by Dr. Vincent Stallings—underscores the district’s unwavering dedication to preparing students for success by providing transformative experiences that expand their vision of the future.
The East Orange School District extends sincere gratitude to Mr. Kevin Booker, Dean Kevin Chapman, and Ms. Sade Criss for their outstanding leadership, thoughtful organization, and attention to detail. Their efforts ensured the summit’s resounding success and continue to strengthen a partnership that highlights the power of higher education, leadership, and cultural pride.
